If you have thought about adopting a child or you are an adoptive parent or you have been adopted yourself, there is so much to understand and explore about adoption.

My story is not that different from many others. When I was in my early 40s I went through two unsuccessful in vitro fertilization attempts and that was after several years of trying to get pregnant. The difficult decision at the time was to adopt or not have any children. I always wanted to be a mother, so we decided to try the public adoption route with Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services which is in Cleveland, Ohio.

Not everyone deals with such a complex process, some are lucky. Having birth children can be fraught with issues so adoption is just a different animal.
